Canada is fast replacing the States as the home of poker, and it would seem they’re making a very neat job of it too. The new anonymous owner of Canadian poker-hotspot Poker.ca states that Canadians are uniquely placed to undertake such a venture, enjoying staying on the cutting edge of news and updates, particularly when the topic is close to their hearts. It should also be remembered that Canada has provided the poker-world with some of its best-loved and most successful players, including Daniel Negreanu, Isabelle Mercier, Evelyn Ng and Marc Karam.

Poker.ca was recently purchased for a massive $400K, with the new owner’s identity remaining a carefully guarded secret. However, the businessman and professional poker player has made it clear that Canada has his full backing as a new home for poker, both online and offline. He has expressed confidence that, unlike other countries, Canada will listen to the needs of the poker players themselves and act accordingly, rather than trying to force through the same-old offers. Canada does indeed seem well-primed to act as a base with which to introduce the world to the next decade of poker playing.

This evolution will begin with a re-vamped design for Poker.ca itself, which has undergone a design overhaul under the new management. Visitors to the site will now have access to exclusive deals and offers, as well as a constantly-updated news stream and information from poker insiders. Being a professional poker player himself (although we cannot say for certain who) the new owner is uniquely placed for this undertaking, both as a gamer and as a professional. On the former he will know what the average visitor to his website is looking for, and can provide them with that, on the latter he has a useful list of poker contacts to utilise. As to the mystery of his identity, we will simply have to wait.

CLASSIC POKER has been around since the early 2000’s and is using a very familiar online casino software named “Boss Media”, after a few years of running on “Cryptologic”. CLASSIC POKER holds a European gaming license and many Canadian players used to high security standards appreciate that certification. CLASSIC POKER is an unusual poker room, whose owners focus on poker online and players’ convenience when it comes to providing quality casino games that gamblers want to play.

CLASSIC POKER is one of the few sites where Omaha has a limit. It also offers special card games such as SOKO and Americana, but variants such as Stud are still preferable. Bets start at $0.02-0.04 to $100-200 and can be made on a daily basis.

CLASSIC POKER unfortunately doesn’t accept poker players from the US, despite being one of the 10 biggest halls in the world.

New players get a bonus of $200-1000 given in chunks of $10 for 200 points. Points can be accumulated in either cash games or tournaments. Players have 60 minutes to spend as many bonuses as possible.

So you want to learn how to play CLASSIC POKER but you don’t know how? Well, it is well known that poker has different versions like most casino games these days, but when it comes to the classic game, it’s usually 5 card stud. Most poker players in Canada who grew up watching poker on TV or playing with friends will know how to play this game, though it never hurts to refresh your memory.

Generally speaking, no matter what variant of poker you choose to play, there are basic rules that apply to all versions, from Texas Holdem and 5 card stud, in standard form or poker online. The basic rules determine the value of the cards and what hands are stronger than others. So if you want to do it right, read below the four stages you have to go through, in order to have a good command of CLASSIC POKER:

1) As mentioned above, poker players have to understand the game. The first thing you need to do is to realize that poker is played with a standard pack of cards. The pack is divided into four “suits”: spades, hearts, clubs and diamonds. The suit doesn’t affect the card’s value.

2) Dealing the cards – after each player had placed his bet, the dealer deals each player five cards face down. The dealer generally deals the cards clockwise, whereby he is the last to obtain his cards. Once everybody have obtained their cards the players check them and the player to the left of the dealer places his bet first. At this point the minimal bet that is necessary in order to participate in the round is determined. The decision on whether to participate should depend on the cards you were dealt.

3) The player to the left of the dealer decides to show his cards or to quit. If he decides not to bet because his hand isn’t strong enough, he is entitled to “fold”. If he does decide to show his cards he will bet according to the hand he can get or according to the hand he might still obtain. The rest of the players follow and have the same option of either folding, matching the bet or raising it.

4) After the first round is completed, you and the rest of the players can request a replacement for up to three cards from the original hand. After everybody has performed the replacement another betting round takes place and the game continues. A casino online that accepts Canadian players will most likely follow this format too.

What makes online poker special in this regard is Poker Bonuses offered to players; these are hard to come by in traditional casinos, so enjoy them where and when you can.
